This conference is designed to engage in a public dialogue concerning issues such as implementation of optimal services, early screening and diagnosis, and biomedical research.

Breaking Down Barriers to Health Care for Women with Disabilities - sponsored by Office on Disability and the Office on Women's Health at the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services, in partnership with the Interagency Committee on Disability Research at the U.S. Department of Education. The summit will highlight the many challenges facing women with disabilities in obtaining appropriate healthcare, and will explore ways that health professionals and facilities can overcome these barriers to provide the best possible care. National experts will outline programs and paradigms that have been successful in improving access to care for people with disabilities, including projects that focus on educating health care professionals about these issues. |
