NLC 2005 Congressional Cities Conference

Washington DC Mayor Anthony Williams, President of NLC, stressed the importance of lobbying for national government support of block grants and other program. He also laid out the organization’s 2005 agenda, calling for expansion of NLC resources and use of technology to create a national cities network that provides a comprehensive knowledge base on issues that affect our cities and our communities. In closing, President Williams urged members “to take destiny in our own hands and meet the challenge before us in the future”.

Congress of Cities and Exposition, Indianapolis Convention Center, Indianapolis, Indiana

As cities race towards the future, what will it take to stay competitive, to deliver fast-paced services and solutions to your cities? The Congress of Cities and Exposition offered city officials and staff multiple learning opportunities to keep pace with a changing America . The Congress of Cities (CoC) provided opportunities to share common challenges, new ideas and tried and true strategies for cities through networking with peers. Cutting edge workshops and the exhibit hall offered new solutions from vendors, as well as successful programs implemented by cities and towns across the country on display at the City showcase. In addition to general sessions, workshops and business meetings the numerous presentations include:
